What is 'Newlyweds'? It is a hilarious reality tv show that follows the trials and travails of married pop stars, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. Nick is a member of 98 Degrees and is more in love with himself than his wife, Jessica, who he grudgingly seems to tolerate at times. Jessica is clueless and refuses to clean their home, which means that there are constantly large piles of dirty clothes everywhere. She does not do housework, in fact, if they didn't have a maid, they'd be swimming in dirty laundry and garbage. Nothing is more funny than watching Jessica pout if Nick asks her to do housework or prepare a meal.

Is Jessica dumb? You be the judge. This is what viewers have noticed:

• Jessica says that she does not like buffalo wings because she does not eat buffulo.
• She also thinks that the word 'playtpus', should be pronounced 'Plat-y-ma-pos'.
• She has no idea of how to do laundry and thinks that it should be piled up all over the house.
• She believes that she and Nick are really celebrities and even asked a friend,'Do they have maids for celebrities?'
• Jessica can't distinguish between chicken and tuna; in the first episode she asked Nick if Chicken of the Sea is made of chicken.

Things Jessica doesn't want people to know:

• Nick enjoyed the pleasures of groupies while on tour.
• He had a very nice time with another woman at his bachelor party the night before marrying Jessica.
• She often will roll her eyes at Nick's fans when the cameras are not around.
• When Jessica and Nick toured together the backstage area had to be cleared of black females because Nick's ex girlfriend was black and Jessica was concerned that he'd be enticed again.
• Jessica's Dad was a youth minister in Dallas and Jessica was the queen bee of all the youth cliques at the church.
• She likes to get something for nothing. Witness the way that she encouraged her sister in law to 'put the leg back on the crab, that way you won't have to pay for it' when they were out at a restaurant. Also, read this quote about her early life in Dallas, "We didn't have a lot of money, but I never wanted to wear the same outfit twice to school, she says. "So we would go and buy clothes for the entire week, keep the tags in them and take them back." Nice attitude, huh?

Is anyone else sickened by the high level of involvement that Jessica's parents have in her life? How do I arrive at this conclusion? On a recent episode, her father (a minister) said that his daughter's new video and song were a celebration of the fact that she waited till marriage and the fact that she could now 'do it' till her face turned blue. Her parents might be her management but they need to back off a bit, Jessica is 23 years old.
